Remember the mystery plants I had in April, wellllllllllllllllll...................

Turns out, they were the Cornflowers.  I forgot that I had a few of them in the garden last year.  They are quite tall and pretty.  It is funny how they seeded in a perfect arch in only one spot in the garden.  In the bottom photo, that is my Blazing Stars growing.  They will be tall like the Cornflowers when mature.

Not sure what this is - perhaps Corn Flowers or Gallardia?

Under all the leaves in the garden from the Winter, I found this cluster of plants.  They could be weeds, but I kinda suspect they may be Corn Flowers or Gallardia?  I will leave them here for a while to see what developes.

Blue & Purple Bachelor Button (Cornflower)

Centaurea cyanus (Cornflower, Bachelor's button, Bluebottle, Boutonniere flower, Hurtsickle) is a small annual flowering plant in the family Asteraceae, native to Europe.  I have another color of this cornflower growing in my garden.  How about this one? Or do you prefer the color Purple?

Corn Flower

This is one of the first blooms to open on the cone flower that a bird must have dropped seed last year.  This is not something I ever had in my garden.  I wasn't sure what it was at first, but I let it grow until the flowers opened.  I guess I will keep this to see how it does. If you look closely, you can see some garden "friends" on the flower.

Purple Coneflowers

This is my oh so beautiful purple coneflower, a 3-year old plant. The rain has really washed out the beautiful color of this HUGE plant. The corn is not in my garden, but is leaning into my garden from the garden next to me. I have TONS of little plants from this plant in the garden, they will bloom next year, I'm going to have to give them away, there is no room for as many plants as are growing.
