Two more flowers from today. The top is a yellow-green Tobacco Plant. If you click on the picture, you will see a small bee in the center. The bottom one is my blood red, almost black, Dahlia.

Tobacco Road
Flowering tobacco, Nicotiana alata, has such a beautifully scented flower that it is often called jasmine tobacco. Each flower produces a seedpod and each plant makes thousands of seeds. It will re-seed itself for next year in the same location, if the conditions favor it and the seedlings are not pulled up during the early spring weeding. I was hoping for a dark red plant, but this year I got light pink and green!
