This plant has been a pleasant surprise for me in the garden. Even though some varieties are called perennials, most do not survive our New England winters. This one not only survived, it sent out seeds that bloomed elsewhere in my garden this year. I need to deadhead this plant. While at the garden this year, I've not noticed the white coneflower in the lower right portion of this picture. The coneflower in heavy bloom is a variety called Hot Lava.

Gaillardia Bloom
This plant was a pleasant surprise to me this year. It came back from last year. I've planted this variety for 5 seasons now, it always died over the winter. This is from the larger of the two plants I have and it is loaded with blooms right now.

Not sure what this is - perhaps Corn Flowers or Gallardia?
Under all the leaves in the garden from the Winter, I found this cluster of plants. They could be weeds, but I kinda suspect they may be Corn Flowers or Gallardia? I will leave them here for a while to see what developes.

Gaillardia (Blanket Flower) Goblin
Goblin Variety Gaillardia (Blanket Flower) are daisies with serrated tips on the ray petals. These perennials are very tough and cheerful. Downy green leaves grow in low rosettes and have a hairy texture. You can see my scabosia pincushion flower in the background. This Goblin is blooming like crazy this year.
