Clumps of Daylilies on July 11, 2011

Mauna Loa

Empire Strikes Back

Aztec Priestess

Lilac Lady

I thought Lilac Lady was another beauty to share for today, there are literally over a 100 pictures just from one day's bloom, but I just don't have the time to show every one, every day.  I will continue to showcase the FFO each time and then some of my favorites.  Here is Lilac Lady:

Blue Oasis

Another beauty that is outstanding in the garden is Blue Oasis:

Canadian Border Patrol

What can I say, I absolutely love this daylily, so here are lots more pictures of the blooms from July 10, 2011.

Buttered Popcorn - FFO

Buttered Popcorn is opening for the first time in 2011.  It is a fragrant, butter yellow with a tiny, green throat.

Bucket of spent daylily blooms

Diane cuts the spent blooms from the daylilies each morning.  When I saw the bucket with all the blooms, I asked her to take a picture.  This is 79 daylily blooms in the bucket, all the spent blooms from July 9, 2011 daylilies:

Volcanic Explosion - FFO

This is Volcanic Explosion with it's FFO for 2011.  This one did bloom for us last year.  It is a gold with a bold red eyezone with a green throat.  It is one of the fragrant daylilies.

All the below pictures of the daylilies were actually taken on July 8, 2011

There had been a very HARD rain overnight and early this morning (July 8, 2011).  A lot of the pictures show the rain damage.  There are so many pictures to upload to the blog, I am having a hard time getting them up the day they are taken.

Summertime Splendor

Summertime Splendor took a beating from the HARD rain earlier in the day.  You can see the thinning of the peals, like it is tissue paper.  This is the one flower that will catch your eyes first in the garden.  Very pretty.

Angel Curls

Pink Jubilation - FFO

This is the first time we are seeing Pink Jubilation, it did not bloom for us last year.  It is a pink color with a gold throat.

Inherited Wealth

Diane is not happy with the performance of this daylily.  I think she will purge this one and replace it with something else for next year.  The blooms are always imperfect:

Daring Game

Jersey Spider

Jersey Spider has been a blooming fool this year.  Every morning, new blooms and they can't be missed in the garden.  Very pretty.

Emperor's Dragon

Dream Blue - FFO for 2011

Dream Blue is a new bloom for us this year.  We had some lovely blooms last year in 2010.  Dream Blue is a Grape Purple bloom with a darker purple halo around a yellow throat.

Hot Pink Fury

Nordic Night

Baby Becky

Seminole Blood

This daylily has taken a beating from the hard rain we had earlier in the day.
